Pin the Tale on the Donkey

Dear Senator McCain:

    May I offer some comments for your next debate. I'm concerned the story of the financial crisis -- the tale of the crisis, if you will -- will somehow be pinned on the Republicans to your disadvantage (Maybe like this: it happened on Bush's watch, etc...). PIN THE TALE ON THE DONKEY.

    I question whether the Democrats have manipulated this crisis to their advantage. They had the votes to pass something in the House, but did not. Now why didn't they?

    I read that as far back as 2004, the Treasury Secretary and Alan Greenspan called for tougher oversight of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae because they could put the nation at risk, and Republicans pushed for remedial action which was opposed by Democrats. Barney Frank said Freddie and Fannie weren't facing a financial crisis, and he, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, Lacey Clay and Franklin Raines denied there was a problem. Are we hearing much if anything about this in the mainstream media?

    There may be a sentiment (to) not rock the boat and to get along, but don't let the responsibility be misplaced by others. Place it where it belongs. PIN THE TALE ON THE DONKEY.

    We need conservative and Republican backbone in this.

     I read ACORN was complicit in the crisis when it forced politically-correct loans that weren't credit-worthy. They should be held accountable, as well as those who took out the loans. ACORN should not benefit from any action you may take now. If the Democrats have a connection to this, that should be brought out. PIN THE TALE ON THE DONKEY.

    If the Democrats are perceived stronger on the economy, then I ask: (1) What happened because of them in this loan thing? Look where we are now. How good were they for the economy? (2) If taxes would be raised under Obama and the Democrats, what does that do to the economy? The more people are taxed, the less money they have for business. And what would happen with employment? (3) If we are perceived weaker and attacked under Obama, what would this do to the economy? It could have a seismic effect.

    There is another thing that I'm afraid isn't being thought about enough. It refers to what the colonial leader George Mason said in 1787 at the Constitutional convention: "Every master of slaves is born a petty tyrant. They bring the judgment of Heaven on a country. As nations cannot be rewarded or punished in the next world, they must be in this. By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins by national calamities." 70 some years later we had around a million casualities in the Civil War.

      Abortion is a sin and God will not bless America for it and things akin to it. Millions upon millions of humans have been killed. Because of abortion, we are vulnerable to chastisement ourselves and God could permit it partly through further economic woes. And where does Obama stand on abortion? Here in Illinois as a state legislator, he voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act meant to protect babies surviving late-term abortion. That was heartless and hardly a recommendation for the Presidency. Where will he take the country on this issue?
